Hands up who can’t wait to upgrade their footwear for autumn! We’ve done the legwork for you and found all the best autumn shoes and boots that are available to buy in Victoria Leeds now.
We’ve picked pairs that cover off all the latest autumn trends, too, from cowboy boots to chunky boots; [eco-friendly/Adidas] trainers to block heels. Farewell flip-flops, hellloooooo shiny new shoes!
Chunky white boots
Last year we saw hiking boots take the fashion pack and the high street by storm, and this season boots with a chunky black sole are still on our radar. For a new twist on the stomping style, why not try on these Steve Madden white boots from Kurt Geiger?
Perfect for weekends and off-duty looks, they’ll look great worn with any floaty silk skirts or floral dresses you’ve got hanging in your wardrobe. Throw on a chunky knit or your leather jacket. (Nirvana playlist optional…) If you’ve got any light jeans, these will work well – black boots can sometimes look too harsh against pale denim.
Our pick: Steve Madden Hallow boots, £90, Kurt Geiger – new in store, so check for availability
Block heel shoes
Anyone else a sucker for a colourful court? It’s such an easy way to lift your outfit, working well with anything from denim through to suiting. This year sees red shoes still reigning high, but if you’ve already bought a pair of those, then how about choosing a suede mint pair instead (save them for dry days…) Step forward these gorgeous & Other Stories shoes.
Block heel shoes are perfect if you’re working 9 ‘til 5. They’ll give your outfit a polished look while making sure your feet aren’t killing you come rush hour. Just check out the on-trend square toe on this pair - & Other Stories nails it again!
Our pick: suede block heeled pumps in mint, £85, & Other Stories
Ah, the one footwear style that we all have in our wardrobes: the humble ankle boot. In order to give you an excuse/reason for buying another pair this autumn, we’ve hunted down a new-season pair that have been given an AW19 overhaul…
One of our favourite pairs at Victoria Leeds – yes, it was hard to choose just one! – is this burgundy pair at Jigsaw. They get two big trend ticks from us: one, the on-trend square toe was seen all over the catwalks; and, two, the sculptural wooden heel makes them that little bit different from your everyday ankle boots. What to wear them with? Oh, just everything you already own – jeans, black trousers, midi skirts, jumpsuits, you name it.
Our pick: Conduit leather ankle boots in berry, £175, Jigsaw – order in store
Now before you think we’ve gone a bit yee-hah, hear us out. Western-style boots are all over the high street and they CAN be your new boot-friend. They’re honestly wearable in real life, not just on influencers feeds.
Take this Isabel Marant pair from Harvey Nichols. Practically speaking, the elongated toe and low heel make them flattering and super comfortable. Keep your legs bare and pop them on with your favourite midi dress. Or add them to your skinny-jeans-and-tee ensemble. They look good with EVERYTHING! And give you instant Insta-cool in the process. Don’t believe us? Head in store and try them.
Our pick: Isabel Marant Denvee 40 leather knee-high boots, £610, Harvey Nichols
SNAKE PRINT BOOTS
It’s hard to shop anywhere nowadays without seeing leopard print: from coats to bags, footwear to belts, we all love a bit of (faux) leopard. What to crush on next? Snake print! We’ve seen this print on dresses in Victoria Leeds, but how about snake print boots? It’s a nice way to dip your toe in the trend…
We hunted down these amazing knee-high brown snake print boots in John Lewis & Partners. Their AND/OR range is really hitting all the fashion marks for autumn, so if you haven’t checked it out yet – make it your first stop on your next shopping trip. Knee-high boots are back on the radar for AW19, and this pair will work with any knee-length, midi or maxi skirts and dresses you own. Go for neutral colours if you don’t want to be too OTT.
Our pick: AND/OR Viola leather snake print stiletto knee-high boots, £219, John Lewis & Partners
ECO FRIENDLY TRAINERS
If you’re upping your sneaker game for autumn, then why not choose a fashionable and ethical pair of kicks? Veja is increasingly known for its environmentally friendly trainers, which are made with raw materials sourced from organic farming and ecological agriculture, using no chemicals or polluting process. In other words, they’re kinder to our world. The range is also vegan – so none of the components used in their kicks is animal-derived.
Get yourself to Anthropologie and swoon over their impressive range of Veja trainers. We’ve put these retro styled pair, which use vegan suede, to the top of our shopping list. You’ll also find other Veja styles at Harvey Nichols. Sprint you there.
Our pick: Veja Rio Branco trainers, £105, Anthropologie
PERSONAL SHOPPING AT VICTORIA LEEDS
We popped in to see personal stylist Victoria at John Lewis & Partners to find out what she had to say about AW19 footwear trends: ‘My footwear staple for autumn/winter will be the biker boot. I love the comfort of flats and, combined with the edginess of a biker boot, it’s a winner for me. Biker boots are a great way to re-style your summer dresses with a grungy twist for the new season.’
